Winter in Ottawa! The 2018/2019 was brutal in many ways. Very cold for very long, and just tons of snow. Between end of November and mid of April, basically everything was covered in white.
Winter wonderland after the second heavy snowfall in Ottawa
During morning hours, the ice on the Canal is almost perfect
The snow didn't melt for more than five months

After 7.8km we reached the end of the canal. Only to return to the beginning.
Practicing our skating skills
Rideau river fully frozen and covered in a thick snow cover
During the weekends, the canal tends to get crowed.
Hiking along Rideau River
Enjoing the sun and a hot coffee
Christmas atmosphere on the Rideau Canal
Within one night, we got 40cm of fresh snow
Just too much to shovel it all...

Returning from the gym: my footsteps from two hours earlier are just gone
Playing with ice covered snow
Sunset over Parliament Hill
Returning from the Quebec side of the river
One of many snow sculptures during Ottawa's Winterlude festival

Icicles larger than my wife
That deep snow can be quite fun if you're wearing enough layers...
One bizarre thing: dragon boat racing on frozen Dow's Lake
Having a break after a long skating session
Watching a professional ice sculpture artist during a tournament
All winter long we saw countless of these trucks, removing the snow from downtown
Waiting in line for some fresh Beavertail on the Canal
